Complete InterpretationThe benefit of a business model is it gives a complete interpretation of the owner’s vision. Business science gives us a general language outline of business, and the owner’s business model is a view of that complete outline with his business as the example. The benefit of the business model is that it is both general and complete for understanding. Because it is both general and complete, each person on the team can understand their role and the roles of each of the other people on the team. So, the business model becomes a thinking tool to make sure we have interpreted those roles so they fit together correctly.
Complete: Present, Past and FuturePresent example: whenever we have to work together, we need to both ask for and give help. In other words we need to know our strengths and weaknesses so we can define our requirements to those who may help us, and make proposals to those who may need our help (products or services). Past example: whenever we have to work together, we need to make and keep commitments. Profitable commitments require measured confidence. We need to measure our confidence to be able to apply it to the future. Future example: whenever we have to work together, we need to share vision in a plan which will organize the communication about that vision. In other words, we need to share what we want from those helping us, and what we want to do to help others.
Complete: Team and all Supporting Team StrategiesA complete understanding includes all the teams (or strategies) in the environment. Because people support people, for every team there are supporting teams. Our tools and services make it easy to record what you know and want other people to know about those teams. By team, it can also limit what people get to know about those teams.
Power Measurement SummaryPower measurement is a multilevel business model of the owner’s vision and how each of his teammates has interpreted their role in his vision.
TeamsWin – Power Measurement Mission StatementThe purpose of TeamsWin – Power Measurement is to provide services and tools for Power Measurement.
The first business model - In 1975- 1976 while attending Pacific Lutheran University (PLU), Navigating C141 aircraft for the USAF Reserve, and spending considerable time with my uncle (John Aram) discussing the future, I was developing a chart of accounts for group medical practices. My business modeling vision - TeamsWin first began to develop when I saw those accounts as line items on financial reports with definitions that began to show me business relationships or a business model, and a decision making tool similar to the model a navigator creates for his decisions. Navigation with a business model – The navigator develops rates and factors directly from his measurements, and uses them indirectly to estimate the effect of change (make decisions). In other words the navigator’s estimates are not directly related to his measurements, they are separated by the rates and factors. He may have to fly around a storm in between measurements, but he still uses the rates and factors from the measurements to make estimates and to decide how to proceed and what it will cost (time). The TeamsWin business modeling vision - My uncle often used the word "vision". In fact he said his management style was to get his teams to develop a vision at every level that supports and helps develop his vision. For example: even though teams have role playing experts that bring individual expertise to the vision, only one person is responsible for the purpose, so only one person can own the vision. Only one person has the authority and responsibility to call it his vision. But an organization is composed of many teams. Because teams are defined by (and organized around) purpose, those teams go beyond and across the internal functions of the organization. In other words organizations are composed of teams with supporting teams, and a budget must authorize and pay for each organization purpose. Being a navigator, I began to see how people could build a strategic business model, share vision, and navigate from decision to decision. Since that time all my education and experience has focused on my Vision. The result is what we at TeamsWin call “Information Heavylifting” and "Power Measurement" -- a thinking tool, a system and a service that will help anyone do anything.
